Today marks the fifth meeting between the USA and Switzerland in IIHF world Women Championship play. The USA holds the 4 advantage over the swiss in the previous meetings.The two teams last met on March 30th, 2004, with Team USA coming out the 9-1 winner.Two of the four USA victories have out by way out shutout as Team USA has outscored Switzerland by a 48-4 margin.At the last world championship in 2007, the United Stated captured the silver medal while Swizterland finished fifth in the nine-team field.
