Team China had its first game with Russia at 19:00pm April 5th,2008.This game was an important one for China at the 2008 World Women Championship.After a two-hour game,Team China lost its first game of this event.

The win was particularly important in earning point in the IIHF World Ranking as the top six teams in the ranking will be automatically qualified for the 2010 Olympics at the end of the championship. The rank of these two teams is inclosed that Russia has already got 1535 points while China has got 1510 points.

Both team are nervous in the opening minutes.Terenteva Svetlana scored for Team Russia firstly at 16:49 into the period.After this goal Russia is apparently relaxed .There are 2 Russian players on penalty at the 18th minute,and Team China took advantage of this .Sun Rui,the captain of Team China, scored the first goal for China and made it a tie 1-1.

Team Russia paid more attention on offensive in the second period. NO.17 gave Russia the second goal on 1:43 into the period,and scored another four minutes later to make it a 3-1 advantage.

Russia made their forth goal at 3:34 into the final period.Then the same thing happened.2 Russia players were on penalty.Sang Hong made the second goal for China and made it a 4-2.China offensed actively and made another goal later,but Russia also scored and brought the final to 5-3.(Chinese Ice Hockey Association-Liu Xi)
